Life as a HEIGHT GODDESS

For as long as I can remember I have LOVED being tall and often times wanted to be 6'2. Although, I didn’t quite make it, I embraced my 6'1 frame and love wearing heels.

As a teen, I purchased men's pant or would take a pair of my Dad's without him knowing :) and have them altered, and when I got older, I continued making alterations to larger sizes.

Before creating HEIGHT GODDESS, I owned one pair of jeans that fit me well and were actually designed for women. I was so protective of them that I didn't wash them for a year (a girl has to do what a girl has to do) fearing they would shrink and I wouldn't be able to find another pair like it. When I finally took them to the cleaners I gave specific instructions and a promise of what would happen if something happened to my jeans!

We all have a story about being tall and our personal frustrations and triumphs, like 6’4” HEIGHT GODDESS, Rebecca Thomas, who wrote Life as a Tall Girl.

“Still, society keeps me aware of my status as a rarity. The retail industry doesn’t exactly cater to a woman with a 37-inch inseam and size 14 feet. I never dated, let alone kissed a guy until I was in college. And even though people tell me I’m beautiful and I should be a model, there are times when I would trade in my long legs for a petite frame and tiny feet.

Being a tall woman was hard for me growing up. But in the end, I think it has made me a stronger individual. I’ve grown into my body, and I try my best to wear all 76 inches of my height with pride, and take the awkward comments and stares with poise.
In fact, sometimes I wear heels. Just to make them look twice.”

I decided...

Hello fellow HEIGHT GODDESSES!!! My name is Lameka Weeks, creator of HEIGHT GODDESS.

HEIGHT GODDESS was created out of personal experiences and shopping horrors of finding clothes that weren't long enough, comfortable, age appropriate, and flattering. I decided to start with jeans because they're an essential item in a woman's wardrobe. Gradually, I will incorporate dresses, outerwear, dress pants and many other wardrobe must-haves that we have a difficult time finding to fit our taller than average frames.

I decided that tall women would no longer dream of the day when someone in the fashion world would truly design for tall women.

I decided that I had had enough of the dowdy, unfashionable and poor quality of clothing offered to tall women.

I decided that My story is probably Your story. This blog will share my story and yours with informative and inspiring messages of confidence and fashion.

HEIGHT GODDESS encourages you to be stylish. be confident. be you.
